The day begins early with pick-up from your hotel in Cusco. We travel northeast through Andean mountains and valleys until we reach Pisac, a charming town famous for its handicraft market and its archaeological complex, built on a mountain with agricultural terraces, temples, and viewpoints overlooking the valley.
We continue along the banks of the Vilcanota River, enjoying the Andean landscape, until arriving in Urubamba, where we stop for a buffet lunch featuring local flavors. Afterwards, we head to Ollantaytambo, one of the oldest continuously inhabited towns in the Americas, where we explore its impressive Inca fortress built on the mountainside. This site was not only a military and religious center but also a strategic defense point of the Empire.
On our way back to Cusco, we make a final stop in the town of Chinchero, known for its colonial church built on Inca foundations, its agricultural terraces, and its textile interpretation center, where you can learn about the ancestral process of Andean weaving.
We conclude the day returning to Cusco in the afternoon, dropping travelers off at a central location or their hotel, after having explored some of the most iconic sites of Inca culture.
